Universiti Kuala Lumpur Business School (UniKL BIS) strengthened students’ financial literacy and understanding of Shariah-compliant investment through the Bursa Islamic Tunas Labur 2026 programme, held on 18 August 2026 at Bestari Hall, UniKL City Campus.
Conducted in collaboration with Bursa Malaysia, the programme introduced UniKL students to practical approaches to responsible investing while expanding their knowledge of Malaysia’s Islamic capital market.
The initiative provided students with exposure to key concepts in Shariah-compliant investment, including investment in equities and gold. Through the sessions, participants gained a better understanding of how investment decisions can be approached within Shariah principles and the wider financial ecosystem.
Beyond classroom-based learning, the programme provided students with direct access to practical investment opportunities.

Participants were given the opportunity to register for investment accounts, Central Depository System (CDS) accounts and Bursa Gold Dinar accounts, allowing them to translate financial knowledge into practical experience.
The programme featured YBhg. Datuk Haji Mohd Asri Ahmad, Founder of Asri Ahmad Academy and a Remisier at CGS International Securities Malaysia, as the guest speaker.
Drawing on his experience in the investment industry, he shared insights into the fundamentals of investing and Shariah-compliant financial instruments, helping students connect academic knowledge with real-world practices in Malaysia’s capital market.
The Bursa Islamic Tunas Labur 2026 programme reflects UniKL Business School’s commitment to industry-engaged education, experiential learning and future-ready graduate development.
From a sustainability perspective, the initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education through practical financial education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth through greater financial and economic awareness, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through university-industry engagement.
