It was a full house event for WE4ASIA Leadership Talk Series Q1/2018 by Dr. T.C. Melewar (BSc, MBA, PhD), Professor of Marketing and Strategy at The Business School, Middlesex University London, held on March 6, 2018 at Banquet Hall, UniKL City Campus.
The talk entitled “Ranking, Reputation and Research (3Rs): Voyage, Vista and Viewpoint” had attracted a wide range of audience which include prominent figures such as the Chairman of Zaid Ibrahim & Co., Datuk Seri Dr Nik Norzrul Thani, members of Negeri Sembilan royalties, UniKL Top Management members and representatives from MARA, deans from UCSI, industry partners, and deans and heads of departments of UniKL.
Prof. TC as he is fondly known, shared his journey as an academic from the early years at MARA Institute of Technology (now UiTM), to receiving his professorship at Brunel University, UK and Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), Switzerland.
An avid researcher and contributor to SSCI journals in business and management, he gave useful insights on how to get published into top journals with high impact. His passion towards such publications has made him Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Brand Management previously and now, Editor Emeritus.
He repeatedly, in his upbeat manner, reminded the audience of the importance of research and publication especially in reputable journals which translates into building an academic brand, for the academic, and the university or institution he/she represents towards global recognition and excellence – the way forward for UniKL, towards WE4ASIA.
