Former television personality and journalist Mazidul Akmal Sidek, 58, could not contain his joy as he witnessed his son graduate during the 22nd Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) Convocation Ceremony.
Mazidul Akmal, who rose to fame as a journalist and presenter for the popular TV3 crime programme 999, expressed his gratitude to UniKL for shaping the identity and character of his son, Muhammad Azard Faez Mazidul Akmal, who received a Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Welding and Quality Inspection) with Honours.
“As parents, we have cared for our child since he was young. To see him enter university and finally graduate, reaching this level, is truly a proud moment.

“From the aspect of personal and physical development, I have full confidence in UniKL.
“I believe the environment here truly helps shape students’ growth,” said Mazidul Akmal, who was accompanied by his wife, Fazlin Kamarudin, 55.
For the record, Muhammad Azard Faez was among more than 700 graduates who received their scrolls during the sixth session of the convocation ceremony.
“I feel excited today because after four years of studying, I’m finally graduating. I chose UniKL because it offers the same course I pursued during my diploma,” said Muhammad Azard Faez.
