A day on the fairway became a platform for meaningful connections and community support as Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) brought together alumni, industry leaders and corporate partners for the 2nd UniKL Pro-Chancellor’s Golf Tournament 2026.
Held on 26 September 2026 at Bangi Golf Resort, the tournament gathered 136 players from across UniKL’s alumni network, industry, corporate organisations and partner institutions for a day of competitive golf, networking and camaraderie.
More importantly, the tournament lived up to its tagline, “Tee Off for a Greater Cause,” by successfully generating RM35,000 in sponsorships for the UniKL Alumni Welfare Fund (AWF).
The fund assists UniKL alumni facing difficult circumstances, including cases involving death, critical illness and natural disasters, giving the tournament a social purpose that extended well beyond the golf course.
Organised by UniKL’s Centre for Alumni & Career Services (CACS), the initiative strengthened alumni engagement while creating opportunities for UniKL to deepen relationships with industry leaders, corporate partners and its wider professional network.
Building on the inaugural tournament, this year’s edition was designed to create a bigger and more impactful platform for networking, alumni engagement, fundraising and university-industry collaboration.
Golf also provided a valuable setting for participants from different industries and professional backgrounds to connect, exchange ideas and explore potential collaborations, while enhancing UniKL’s visibility among corporate and industry communities.
The tournament attracted support from 17 sponsors, including Bangi Golf Resort, Optastar Protein Sdn Bhd (OPI), Lylian AEF Global Sdn Bhd, Miracles Golf, Goolee Sdn Bhd, UniKL Proud, Sunway Putra Hotel, Heritage Hotel, Spritzer, KEEP.co, Hawa Golf, F&N, UNITEN, Litar Abadi Engineering, RisingNET and Intrasource HRM Sdn Bhd.
Among the supporting organisations were businesses represented by UniKL alumni, reflecting a growing culture of graduates giving back to their alma mater and remaining connected to the institution through professional and community initiatives.
The initiative contributes particularly to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being through welfare assistance for alumni facing critical circumstances, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities through support for members of the alumni community in need, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through collaboration between UniKL, its graduates, sponsors and industry partners.
