A total of 68 Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) Kor SISPA cadets marked a major milestone in their leadership journey after being commissioned at the 17th Kor SISPA Commissioning Ceremony 2026.
Held on 16 August 2026 at Dewan Tuanku Canselor, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Proton City Campus in Tanjung Malim, Perak, the national ceremony recognised cadet officers from higher education institutions across Malaysia who had completed the required training and commissioning requirements.
The UniKL contingent comprised cadets from UniKL Malaysian Institute of Industrial Technology (UniKL MITEC), UniKL Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT) and UniKL Malaysia France Institute (UniKL MFI).
The ceremony was graced by the Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Yang Berhormat Datuk Hajah Rubiah Haji Wang.
Through the commissioning, qualified cadets were formally appointed to the ranks of Second Lieutenant (Lt. M.) and Junior Staff Officer (SM), reflecting their successful completion of structured civil defence training.
Adding to UniKL’s achievement, Lt. M. (PA) Muhammad Hafizuddin Abdul Latif of UniKL MITEC was named Best Kor SISPA Cadet for UniKL MITEC, while Lt. M. (PA) Muhammad Alif Haikal Khairul Azman received the corresponding recognition for UniKL MIAT.
Their achievements highlight the dedication demonstrated by UniKL students throughout their training and their ability to balance academic responsibilities with the demanding requirements of civil defence development.
The achievement contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education through experiential and skills-based learning, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities through emergency and disaster preparedness, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through collaboration involving APM, higher education institutions and the Ministry of Higher Education.
