Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Chemical and Bioengineering Technology (UniKL MICET) created history after being crowned Overall Champion of Sukan MARA Melaka 2026, marking the institute’s first-ever overall championship title since the tournament was introduced.
The achievement was confirmed at the closing ceremony on 28 June 2026, where the Overall Champion Trophy was presented by Melaka State MARA Director, En. Shah Zulmizan Safar, to UniKL MICET Dean, Dr. Noor Aina Mohd Nazri.
Held from 13 to 28 June 2026, the biennial sporting event brought together staff from MARA agencies and institutions across Melaka in a celebration of teamwork, sportsmanship and healthy competition.
UniKL MICET’s 63-member staff contingent delivered a strong and consistent performance throughout the tournament, securing seven gold medals, two silver medals and two bronze medals.
The result placed UniKL MICET at the top of the overall medal tally and earned the institute the Overall Champion title in the third edition of Sukan MARA Melaka.
UniKL MICET’s gold medal victories came from Sepak Takraw, Men’s Volleyball, Men’s Road Relay, Women’s Road Relay, Men’s Open Badminton Doubles, Women’s Badminton Doubles and VIP Darts.

The contingent also won silver medals in Women’s Table Tennis Doubles and Women’s Volleyball, while bronze medals were contributed by Women’s Petanque and the Bowling Team.
A total of 14 sporting events were contested throughout SUKMAM 2026, including football, netball, bowling, men’s and women’s volleyball, sepak takraw, petanque, road relay, badminton, table tennis, darts, carrom, dam aji and VIP darts.
