Power-packed performance and unyielding fighting spirit!
That was what Universiti Kuala Lumpur’s (UniKL) futsal squad displayed as they wrapped up their IPT Futsal Cup 2025 campaign in third place, defeating Management and Science University (MSU) with a 6–1 victory in the third-place playoff on 9 November 2025.
The tournament, held at Sport Arena Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) from 6 to 9 November 2025, brought together eight of the best higher education institution teams — five from the Super League and three from the Premier League — making this year’s competition one of the most intense ever held.
UniKL started strong in the group stage, thrashing Universiti Malaya (UM) 6–1 before maintaining their winning momentum with an 8–4 victory over Politeknik Malaysia.
However, they were edged out 1–5 by a formidable UiTM Shah Alam side, finishing as Group A runners-up.

In the semifinals, UniKL faced a tough battle against Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK).
The dramatic encounter ended 1–1, forcing a penalty shootout.
Amid a tense atmosphere, both teams exchanged goals in succession, but UniKL narrowly lost 14–13 on aggregate penalties.
Undeterred, the UniKL squad bounced back in style during the third-place playoff, defeating MSU 6–1 to secure a podium finish and take home RM3,000 in prize money.
Meanwhile, UiTM Shah Alam emerged as the tournament champion, earning RM7,000, while UMK finished second, bringing home RM5,000.
The third-place achievement reaffirms UniKL’s position as one of the dominant forces in IPT futsal.
