Universiti Kuala Lumpur Business School (UBIS) emerged as the overall champion of the UniKL Alumni Sports Carnival 2026 after securing three gold medals and one silver medal during the two-day competition involving 664 alumni from all 12 UniKL campuses.

The strong performance placed UBIS at the top of the overall medal standings with four medals, earning the campus the UniKL Alumni Sports Carnival Challenge Trophy.

UniKL Malaysian Institute of Marine Engineering Technology (UniKL MIMET) finished second with two gold medals, while host campus UniKL Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT) secured third place with one gold, one silver and one bronze medal.

Held on 13 and 14 June, the carnival brought together UniKL graduates from across Malaysia for a weekend of sporting competition, networking and fellowship. It reflected the strength of the university’s nationwide alumni network and the lasting connection between graduates and their alma mater.

The carnival featured the UniKL Chairman’s Cup football tournament alongside volleyball, netball, badminton and bowling competitions.

Football, volleyball and netball matches were held at UniKL MIAT, while the bowling competition took place at MesaMall and badminton matches were contested at the Nilai Sports Complex.

The programme was organised by the UniKL Alumni Association (UNIKMA) in collaboration with the Centre for Alumni and Career Services (CACS), Campus Lifestyle Division and UniKL MIAT.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Chairman of UniKL, Dato’ Sri Sh Mohmed Fuzi Sh Ali said that the participation of 664 alumni demonstrated the enduring spirit of “We Are UniKL” and the strong sense of unity shared among the university’s alumni, students and employees.

“I am deeply encouraged by the strong ‘We Are UniKL’ spirit demonstrated by our alumni, who dedicated their time and energy to the carnival, from the early training sessions to the final matches.

“This carnival, however, is about more than winning or losing. It is about reconnecting our alumni, building stronger networks and reinforcing the sense of unity that binds us together as one UniKL community,” he said.
By encouraging physical activity and an active lifestyle, the programme aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being.

Its emphasis on continued learning, networking and institutional participation complements SDG 4: Quality Education, particularly the role of lifelong learning and graduate engagement beyond formal academic programmes.
