Aura UniKL marked a new milestone in Universiti Kuala Lumpur’s (UniKL) sporting journey after being crowned Under-23 champion at the Negeri Sembilan Youth Netball Championship (NSYNC) 2026.
The UniKL netball team secured its first championship title after edging Lynx NC Minang of Negeri Sembilan 12–10 in a closely contested U23 final.
Held on 13 September 2026 in Paroi, Negeri Sembilan, the inaugural NSYNC 2026 brought together young netball talents in the U12, U15, U18 and U23 categories.
The championship was designed as a competitive platform to strengthen grassroots development and create pathways for emerging players.
For Aura UniKL, the victory represents more than a tournament result. The maiden title reflects the team’s growing competitive presence and the commitment of its players to developing their capabilities beyond the university environment.
NSYNC 2026 attracted teams from six states which are Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Kedah and Melaka.
The achievement strengthens the visibility of UniKL student-athletes within Malaysia’s youth sports ecosystem and demonstrates the university’s support for talent development through meaningful participation in external competitions.
Aura UniKL’s championship aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-being, through the promotion of active lifestyles, physical well-being and participation in sport.
It also supports SDG 4: Quality Education, reflecting UniKL’s commitment to holistic education and the development of students through learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom.
