Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) Futsal Team continued its strong presence in Malaysian university futsal after finishing runner-up in the Liga Futsal IPT 2026 Liga Super, extending an impressive run of podium finishes over the past three seasons.
UniKL delivered a strong campaign in 2026, recording seven wins, one draw and only one defeat across nine matches.
The team secured victories over Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), UiTM Perlis, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Management and Science University (MSU), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) and Politeknik Malaysia.
Adding to the achievement, Muhammad Asyraf Mohammad Tuah of UniKL Malaysian Institute of Industrial Technology (UniKL MITEC) was named the Liga Super Young Promising Player (Pemain Muda Harapan), highlighting the emerging student-athlete talent within UniKL.

Supporting the team’s progress is Mohd Arif Hamidi Sayuti, an alumnus of UniKL MIIT, who serves as the team’s coach.
The 2026 result builds on UniKL Futsal Team’s consistent performances in Liga Futsal IPT over the past three years.
UniKL first made its mark by emerging champion of Liga Premier in 2024, earning promotion to Liga Super.
Ahmed Haziq Haikal Rashidi of UniKL Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (UniKL MIIT) was named Best Player, while Muhammad Nurluqman Mohd Zaini of UniKL Malaysia France Institute (UniKL MFI) received the Best Goalkeeper award.

Making the step up to Liga Super in 2025, UniKL continued its momentum by securing third place in its first season at the higher level.
The campaign also saw Ahmed Haziq recognised as the Liga Super Most Promising Player, Muhammad Nurluqman named Best Goalkeeper and Adam Izz Wazif Muhammad Azhar of UniKL MITEC emerge as the league’s top scorer.
UniKL later added another third-place finish at the Piala Futsal IPT 2025.
The achievement also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, through the promotion of active lifestyles and participation in sports, and SDG 4: Quality Education, through broader student development and experiential learning opportunities.
