Universiti Kuala Lumpur Institute of Medical Science Technology (UniKL MESTECH) recently welcomed a delegation from University of Technology Sarawak (UTS Sarawak) for a benchmarking visit involving the Bachelor of Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) with Honours programme.
Held on 14 May 2026 at UniKL MESTECH, the visit brought together representatives from the Environmental Healthcare Section of UniKL MESTECH and the School of Engineering & Technology, UTS Sarawak, in a strategic knowledge-sharing session focused on curriculum development, programme delivery, and academic best practices.
Representing UniKL MESTECH were Head of Section, Environmental Healthcare, Ts Dr Sabrina Karim; Head of Section, Research and Innovation, Ts Dr Noor Arniwati; and Programme Coordinator for the BOSH programme, Ts Nur Faiza Abd Razak.
The UTS Sarawak delegation was led by Head of Programme, Ts Dr Zalikha Raman, accompanied by lecturers Ts Abdul Ismail Abdul Rani, Siti Nurazwanni Wahishad, Francellya Francis, and Mohd Azimie Ahmad.
Throughout the benchmarking session, both institutions exchanged insights on curriculum structure, programme management, and strategies for strengthening student competency development in line with evolving industry requirements.
The engagement also served as a platform for UniKL MESTECH to showcase the distinctive strengths of its Bachelor of Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) with Honours programme.
Among the programme’s key highlights are its international accreditation by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and recognition by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Malaysia.
The programme also integrates Professional Competency Certificates as part of its value-added educational approach, aimed at equipping graduates with both academic qualifications and industry-relevant professional competencies.
The visit further opened opportunities for future academic collaboration and strategic partnerships between UniKL MESTECH and UTS Sarawak, particularly in areas related to occupational safety and health education, research, and talent development.
