Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Chemical and Bioengineering Technology (UniKL MICET) successfully conducted a two-day Go2Retort Training programme for 30 production and technical personnel from Adabi Consumer Industries Sdn Bhd.
Held on 6 and 7 May 2026 at Adabi’s premises in Rawang, Selangor, the in-house training programme was organised under the Human Resources Development Corporation (HRDCorp) scheme and led by Ts. Dr. Muhamad Yusuf Hasan, Senior Lecturer at UniKL MICET, whose expertise focuses on food process engineering and thermal sterilisation technology.
Designed to bridge theoretical understanding with industrial application, the programme combined classroom-based learning with practical exposure tailored to real production environments.
Throughout the training, participants were introduced to the fundamentals of thermal and retort processing, including the essential parameters in ensuring food safety and commercial sterility in food manufacturing.
The programme also provided hands-on exposure to retort machine operations, safety procedures, temperature and pressure control systems, and regulatory compliance requirements based on FDA, USDA, and HACCP standards.
Upon completion of the programme, all 30 participants received a Certificate of Completion in Food Retort Technology Training in recognition of their newly acquired competencies in one of the food industry’s most critical preservation technologies.
For the record, Adabi Consumer Industries is among Malaysia’s leading halal food manufacturers, producing a wide range of packaged and ready-to-eat food products that require stringent thermal processing standards.
The Go2Retort Training programme, therefore, serves as a timely initiative in strengthening industry readiness, food safety practices, and technical workforce capabilities.
