A group of UniKL Royal College of Medicine Perak (UniKL RCMP) students gained first-hand exposure to healthcare entrepreneurship through the Roots and Routes: Learning from Alumnipreneurs programme, held on 7 June 2026 in Sungai Petani, Kedah.
Organised by the Student Entrepreneurship Association (SEA) of UniKL RCMP, the programme brought 16 student representatives, accompanied by their advisor, to Farmasi Azam, Poliklinik Dr. Azhar dan Rakan-Rakan, and Klinik Pergigian Azam at Taman Ria.
The visit was designed to connect students with UniKL alumni who have successfully ventured into the healthcare business sector.

A key highlight of the programme was the engagement session with UniKL alumnipreneur, YBrs. Encik Che Muhammad Asyrafi Che Rusly, Resident Pharmacist and Branch Manager of Farmasi Azam Taman Ria.
Through his sharing, students were introduced to the realities of establishing, managing, and sustaining healthcare-related enterprises in a competitive and highly regulated industry.
The visit also included guided facility tours and interactive discussions, allowing participants to better understand daily business operations, customer service practices, strategic management, regulatory compliance, and the professional responsibilities involved in running healthcare services.

Beyond classroom learning, the programme offered students a broader view of career possibilities within the healthcare ecosystem.
It also encouraged them to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, particularly in recognising how healthcare knowledge can be translated into meaningful services and sustainable business ventures.
The initiative further strengthened the relationship between UniKL RCMP students and alumni, creating a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, mentorship, and future collaboration. Such engagement reflects the important role of alumni in supporting student development and inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals and entrepreneurs.
