Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) has successfully completed Surveillance Audit 2 for its Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with MS ISO 9001:2015.
The audit, conducted by Pearl Certification Sdn. Bhd. on 7 January 2026, assessed UniKL’s compliance with the standard, the effectiveness of its QMS implementation, and the university’s commitment to continuous improvement across its operations.
The opening meeting was officiated by Ts. Dr. Zailan Karim, Director of the Centre for Quality Assurance (CQA), UniKL.

The session was also attended by Ts. Dr. Farizah Adliza Ghazali, Deputy Director, members of the UniKL ISO Central Committee, and key representatives, including Mr. Fauzan Hisham Abdul Syukor, Deputy General Manager of the Information and Communication Technology Division (ICTD); Mr. Azman Ibrahim, Senior Manager of the Infrastructure and Asset Management Division; Ms. Arafiah Aman, Deputy General Manager of Group Human Capital (GHC); and Ms. Jehan Mashadi, Manager (Procurement).
Throughout the audit, the auditor observed that UniKL’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System is well established and effectively implemented.
No major nonconformities were identified, and the system was found to be generally well controlled.
Overall, the auditor expressed satisfaction with the effectiveness of the QMS implementation across the audited areas.
During the closing meeting, the auditor recommended the continuation of UniKL’s ISO 9001:2015 certification without any amendments.

The audit also highlighted the strong commitment demonstrated by UniKL’s management and staff in implementing and sustaining the QMS. This commitment remains a key strength in supporting UniKL’s organisational objectives and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
The successful completion of the audit reflects UniKL’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, by ensuring that its academic and administrative processes are consistently managed to support effective teaching, learning, and student services.
At the institutional level, the implementation of a robust quality management system also aligns with SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, as it promotes transparency, accountability, and good governance across the university’s operations.
