Universiti Kuala Lumpur Institute of Medical Science Technology (UniKL MESTECH) successfully organised OSH Day 2025, reinforcing the institute’s commitment to cultivating a strong occupational safety and health (OSH) culture within its academic environment.
Held in collaboration with the Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH) in conjunction with World OSH Day 2025, the event adopted the global theme “Revolutionising Health and Safety: The Role of AI and Digitalisation at Work.” It featured insightful talks and sharing sessions by six prominent OSH speakers.
Among the speakers were the Founder of OH Digital, Dr Shawaludin Husin; Accredited Trainer from Sustainable Solutions, Mr Harris Raj Kumar; Engineer at 3M Malaysia, Ms Sherlyn Voon Chel Ling; Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) Manager at Aerodyne, Mr Zulhelmi Farhan Zamri; President of MSOSH, Mr Ahmad Fakhrul Anuar Ismail; and Former Director General Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH), Ir Hj Omar Mat Piah.

“Through this successful collaboration, MSOSH is proud to activate the OSH Student Chapter at UniKL MESTECH as part of our commitment to nurturing the next generation of OSH leaders and strengthening the safety culture within higher education institutions,” said Mr. Ahmad Fakhrul Anuar Ismail during the event.
In addition to the talks, the event creatively engaged students through a Safety TikTok Contest, promoting safety awareness in an innovative and relatable format.

A delegation from Kolej Vokasional Kajang also participated, fostering inter-institutional collaboration.
According to Ts. Dr. Mohamed Zul Fadhli Khairuddin, Dean of UniKL MESTECH, the collaboration with MSOSH marks a significant milestone for the institute.
“Strategic networking with prominent OSH industry players, particularly through our collaboration with MSOSH, is a key driver in advancing UniKL MESTECH’s mission to champion OSH education in Malaysia,” he said.
