More than 1,200 participants came together as Universiti Kuala Lumpur Royal College of Medicine Perak (UniKL RCMP) successfully hosted its Nurses Day 2026 celebration, recognising the dedication, professionalism, and contributions of nurses and nursing students in advancing quality healthcare services.
Held on 22 May 2026, the celebration featured a full-day programme encompassing academic enrichment, clinical skills development, student engagement, and cultural appreciation.
The event highlighted UniKL RCMP’s commitment to producing competent, compassionate, and industry-ready nursing professionals aligned with the evolving needs of Malaysia’s healthcare sector.

The morning session commenced with a keynote address by Puan Kartina Mohammad Manan, Deputy Director of Nursing Services, Ministry of Health Malaysia, who emphasised the critical role of nurses in strengthening healthcare delivery and advancing patient-centred care nationwide.
Participants also attended a seminar titled “Nursing with Heart: The Power of Human Connection” delivered by Lieutenant Muhammad Faiz Hamdan of the Royal Malaysian Navy.
The session explored the importance of empathy, effective communication, and meaningful human connection in nursing practice, reinforcing the profession’s core values of compassion and service.
A key highlight of the programme was the CPR Competition involving nursing students from UniKL RCMP, KPJ Healthcare University, and UiTM Kampus Bertam.

The competition provided a platform for participants to demonstrate clinical competency, critical thinking, teamwork, and emergency response skills, reflecting the practical training essential in modern nursing education.
Creativity and innovation were also showcased through the Music Video Competition, where students produced engaging content depicting the realities and values of the nursing profession.
The morning programme concluded with a recognition segment celebrating outstanding participation, creativity, and excellence demonstrated by aspiring nursing professionals.

In conjunction with Teachers’ Day, appreciation gifts were presented to lecturers, clinical instructors, and staff members in recognition of their dedication to nurturing future nursing professionals and contributing to healthcare education excellence.
