Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Industrial Technology (UniKL MITEC) successfully hosted the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Racing National Final for the Southern Zone 2025, which concluded with a closing ceremony on 28 September.
Beyond hosting, UniKL MITEC also contributed through training and technical expertise to support the event.
“I am truly impressed with the organisation of this competition and hope that it can be continued and expanded in the coming years.
“UniKL is also very proud to be part of the effort to nurture students’ talents and interests in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and innovation among the younger generation, particularly school students such as the participants here,” said UniKL President/Chief Executive Officer, Prof. Ir. Dr. Azman Senin, in his closing remarks.

Through the Centre for STEM Enhancement and TVET (CSET) established at UniKL, a wide range of programmes and activities are being carried out and planned in collaboration with schools nationwide.
This year’s competition saw the participation of 100 teams from various schools across the southern zone of Malaysia, including MRSM, full boarding schools, day schools, as well as private and international schools.
This diversity, Prof. Ir. Dr. Azman added, reflects inclusivity, unity, and the true spirit of STEM.

The Southern Regional Finals Champion title went to EKA from Kolej Tunku Kurshiah, while Marlborough College Malaysia and SMK King George V secured second and third place, respectively.
