Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Marine Engineering Technology (UniKL MIMET) successfully organised its annual Pink October “Care-Cho” cancer awareness programme on 12 November 2025.
It was held in collaboration with the Centre For Women Advancement and Leadership (CWAL) at UniKL MIMET, KPJ Sri Manjung Specialist Hospital, and the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN).
The event, officiated by UniKL MIMET Dean, Ts. Dr. Zaimi Zainal Mukhtar, brought together 70 participants comprising UniKL staff, students, and members of the surrounding community.
This marks the second consecutive year of collaboration between UniKL MIMET and KPJ Sri Manjung, following the success of last year’s programme.

The half-day programme featured a variety of activities designed to empower the community with knowledge on cancer prevention and early detection.
Highlights included a high-energy Zumba session, informative health talks, wellness exhibitions, and the crowd-favourite Pink Fashionista Walk, which celebrated survivors and advocates.
The initiative aimed to strengthen public understanding of health screening, risk factors, and the importance of regular medical check-ups.
It also served to reinforce collaboration between UniKL MIMET and KPJ Sri Manjung Specialist Hospital while deepening engagement with the local community.
UniKL MIMET expressed appreciation to its sponsors, Hidrokinetik Group and Assifa Boutique, for their generous contributions that helped make the event a success.
