The Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Chemical and Bioengineering Technology (UniKL MICET) welcomed a working visit on 18 May 2026 involving the Melaka State Government, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), and key telecommunications industry players to assess and improve mobile connectivity within its campus.
The visit was led by Melaka EXCO for Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Communication, Datuk Fairul Nizam Roslan, and focused on on-site telecommunication coverage testing following previously raised concerns regarding network quality within the campus.

During the session, Datuk Fairul Nizam chaired a coordination meeting involving relevant stakeholders to review findings from the coverage assessment and discuss practical measures to strengthen digital communication infrastructure at the campus.
The meeting also facilitated engagement between government agencies, academia, and service providers on potential connectivity improvements.

Also present were representatives from the MCMC, including its Melaka Director, Mr. Khairol Nizam Mohd Mostar, as well as officials from MARA Melaka and other relevant agencies.
The engagement brought together major telecommunications providers, including CelcomDigi, YTL Communications, Maxis, U Mobile, and TM Technology Services Sdn Bhd, who participated in the coverage testing and technical discussions.
The initiative reflects the continued commitment of both the Melaka State Government and UniKL MICET to strengthening digital infrastructure and ensuring better connectivity for the campus community.
