Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) has successfully concluded its highly anticipated Welcoming & Orientation Week (WOW) for the July 2023 intake of students, today.
The week-long event saw an overwhelming response from aspiring students, with a total enrolment of 3,620 individuals joining the university’s Foundation and Diploma programmes across its 12 campuses.
The orientation week serves as a crucial period for new students to familiarise themselves with UniKL’s academic environment, immerse themselves in campus life, and build connections with their peers, faculty, and staff.
This year’s WOW session witnessed a remarkable turnout, underscoring the university’s appeal and its reputation for providing quality education.
One of the highlights of the event was the Diploma programme intake, which achieved an impressive 70% of the total target.
Furthermore, eight of UniKL’s campuses exceeded the 100% target mark for Diploma student admissions, a testament to the university’s commitment to maintaining high standards of academic excellence and nurturing future leaders.
During the closing ceremony, the Acting President/Chief Executive Officer of UniKL, YBhg. Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Azman Senin, expressed his excitement in leading his first WOW session with new students.
Dr. Azman addressed the gathering of enthusiastic fresh faces and shared his vision for their academic journey at UniKL.
“I believe, here at UniKL, you will be able to discover and unleash your full potential and talents in various aspects,” Dr. Azman stated, highlighting the diverse opportunities available at the university.
He emphasised the importance of engaging in sports, leadership programmes, entrepreneurial activities, arts and culture, community engagements, and more.
UniKL’s registration process for the July 2023 intake commenced on 23 July for Diploma students, while Foundation and Young Talent Development Programme (YTP) registrations began on 30 July.
For the July 2023 Intake, the selected diploma and foundation programmes will remain open until 18 August, while applications for various diploma and bachelor’s degree programmes for the September 2023 intake are also welcome.
