Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (UniKL MIIT) reinforced its commitment to developing ethical and responsible future leaders by organising Hari Integriti UniKL MIIT 2026, an initiative aimed at strengthening integrity, accountability, and ethical awareness among university students.
Organised by the Student Development Section of UniKL MIIT, the programme was conducted in collaboration with Kelab AMAR UniKL MIIT, Kelab PERKIM and Kelab Rakan Siswa YADIM (RSY) UniKL MIIT.
The programme culminated in the UniKL MIIT Campus Integrity Forum 2026, themed “Integriti Itu Cool”, which brought integrity issues closer to students through an engaging discussion on ethical behaviour, responsible decision-making and the importance of rejecting corruption and abuse of power.
The forum featured UniKL MIIT Head of Student Development Section, Dr. Siti Shariyah Shaari, alongside Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Kuala Lumpur Director, TPj Mohammad Zakkuan Talib, as panellists.
The session was moderated by Muhammad Akif Najmi Shamsul Bahar.
Through the forum and related activities, students were encouraged to see integrity not simply as a formal institutional principle, but as a value that should guide everyday decisions in their academic journey, future careers and interactions with society.
The initiative emphasised values such as honesty, accountability, ethical conduct and the courage to reject corruption, misconduct and abuse of authority.
By cultivating these values at university level, UniKL MIIT aims to nurture graduates who are not only technically and professionally competent, but also equipped with the ethical judgement and responsible leadership qualities required in an increasingly complex workplace and society.
The programme was led by UniKL MIIT Counsellor Puan Azlina Che Mid as Programme Director, with support from the participating student organisations.
Also present were MACC Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur Deputy Director (Prevention) Puan Nor Faemah Ismail, UniKL MIIT Deputy Dean of Student Development and Campus Lifestyle, Puan Wan Suriyani Che Wan Ahmad, invited guests, UniKL MIIT staff and students.
Beyond the programme itself, Hari Integriti UniKL MIIT 2026 reflects the university’s broader emphasis on student development, ethical leadership, good governance and responsible citizenship.
The initiative also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, particularly efforts to promote accountable institutions, ethical practices and a culture that rejects corruption.
It also complements SDG 4: Quality Education by extending student learning beyond technical and academic competencies to include values, character development and responsible participation in society.
