Student entrepreneurship leaders from all 12 Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) campuses came together to explore new business opportunities and establish a coordinated entrepreneurship network, setting the stage for collaborative ventures and initiatives in 2027.
The Student Entrepreneurship Association (SEA) UniKL Convention 2026, organised by Teknoputra UniKL, took place on 19 October 2026 at Dewan Putra, Pusat Latihan Kenegaraan, Kulim, Kedah, in conjunction with VIBE UniKL 2026.
Themed “One Network. Many Ventures. Shared Impact,” the convention brought together SEA Club Advisors and Board of Directors members from across UniKL’s 12 campuses, providing a platform to exchange ideas, share experiences and identify opportunities for entrepreneurship collaboration.
The convention focused on transforming campus-based entrepreneurial activities into coordinated initiatives that could generate wider opportunities for UniKL students.

The programme was officiated by Dr. Muhammad Najib Seth, Programme Director of VIBE UniKL 2026, who highlighted the importance of student leadership, networking and cross-campus collaboration in supporting UniKL’s entrepreneurship agenda.
Led by Dr. Siti Noor Kamariah Yaakop, Chairman of the Entrepreneurship Central Committee (ECC), together with Muhammad Syafiq Fikri Nordin, the convention encouraged participants to explore how their respective campuses could contribute to a more connected and collaborative entrepreneurship ecosystem.
The programme began with a leadership briefing and networking session, followed by the SEA Roll Call and Campus Snapshots, where representatives from each campus presented their entrepreneurial strengths, existing initiatives and potential areas for collaboration.
These exchanges enabled participants to identify shared challenges, explore opportunities to leverage resources across campuses and consider how their individual initiatives could contribute to a university-wide entrepreneurship network.
One of the convention’s key highlights was the UniKL Venture Challenge, which brought students from different campuses together to develop practical entrepreneurship initiatives through team-based discussions and presentations.

Participants worked in mixed-campus teams to identify opportunities, propose collaborative projects and outline how their ideas could be translated into actionable initiatives.
During the pitching and feedback sessions, teams refined their proposals by identifying target beneficiaries, defining campus responsibilities, determining initial implementation steps and considering measurable outcomes.
The exercise encouraged students to move beyond business ideation by applying entrepreneurial thinking, teamwork, strategic planning and problem-solving skills to real-world opportunities.
A significant outcome of the convention was the SEA 2027 Action Commitment, which established a framework for participating campuses to identify initiative leads, set preliminary milestones and outline follow-up actions.
The commitment also introduced a shared action tracker to support progress monitoring and greater accountability in implementing collaborative entrepreneurship initiatives across the 12 campuses.
Through this approach, UniKL aims to build a more coordinated student entrepreneurship ecosystem in which ideas, expertise and resources can be shared across campuses to support future student-led ventures.
The initiative reflects UniKL’s emphasis on entrepreneurship education and experiential learning, providing students with opportunities to develop leadership capabilities, business planning skills and collaborative competencies beyond the classroom.
It also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by encouraging experiential learning, entrepreneurship education and the development of practical skills among university students.
The convention further supports SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
