Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) has been entrusted as a key host and strategic collaborating institution for the 16th edition of the Pertandingan Pidato Antarabangsa Bahasa Melayu (PABM) Piala Perdana Menteri 2026, which recorded a total of 174 entries from participants around the world.
The competition saw 99 participants progress to the screening stage, with 50 advancing to the preliminary rounds, reflecting strong global interest in Bahasa Melayu as an international language of communication.
Organised under the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (KPT), the prestigious competition brought together participants from across multiple continents, representing countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, Thailand, China, Japan, Pakistan, Egypt, Nigeria, Germany, Russia, and many others.
The programme was structured across categories including Antarabangsa, Pelajar Antarabangsa di Malaysia (PAM), Alam Melayu, and Wakil Malaysia.

UniKL’s coordination was supported by its Centre for Student Development, alongside organising committees, student leaders, and volunteers who played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of the programme.
The preliminary rounds and quarter-final stages were held at Universiti Kuala Lumpur British Malaysian Institute (UniKL BMI), while selected stages were also conducted at Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Italy Design Institute (UniKL MIDI).
The grand final stage will take place at the Malaysia Tourism Centre on 8 May 2026, bringing together the top international finalists in a high-level oratory showcase.
For the record, the programme is jointly organised under the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (KPT) in strategic collaboration with Universiti Kualacollaborator for the 16th edition of the Pertandingan Pidato Antarabangsa Bahasa Melayu (PABM) Piala Perdana Menteri 2026, which received Lumpur (UniKL), Yayasan Perkasa Siswa, Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTiC), Tourism Malaysia, Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), Majlis Debat Universiti Malaysia (MADUM), and other key stakeholders.
