For many Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) leavers, choosing the right study path remains a persistent dilemma. Even after a decision is made, a lingering question often follows: Will this choice guarantee a successful career in the future?
Unlike some popular programmes that may lack a clearly defined career pathway, Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) focuses on offering programmes that are closely aligned with industry demands.
By delivering High Technical and Vocational Education and Training (HTVET) programmes—an area increasingly prioritised by governments globally—UniKL offers prospective students greater peace of mind regarding their career prospects.
With abundant career opportunities tied directly to its courses, UniKL helps eliminate doubts about the future. This is proven by the university’s consistently rising graduate employability rate, which now stands at an impressive 97.5%.
While UniKL’s programmes may not always sound as “trendy” or “flashy” as others, the university offers future-focused fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Renewable Energy, Cybersecurity, Machine Learning, Robotics, Aviation, Railway Systems, Logistics, Chemical Engineering Technology, Medicine and Maritime—all of which are in high and growing demand.
According to the World Economic Forum’s 2025 report, 22% of jobs will be disrupted by 2030, with 170 million new roles created and 92 million displaced—resulting in a net gain of 78 million jobs.

Technology-based skills in AI, big data, and cybersecurity are expected to grow rapidly in demand. A combination of both technical and soft skills will be essential in navigating the evolving job market.
Frontline and essential sectors such as healthcare and education are projected to see the highest job growth by 2030.
With HTVET receiving significant national emphasis, UniKL proudly stands at the forefront of this educational transformation. To date, UniKL has established over 200 industry collaborations, and new partnerships particularly in AI, renewable energy, railway technology, and aviation, continue to grow.
As part of its commitment to strengthening HTVET education in Malaysia, UniKL is actively participating in Hari TVET Negara 2025, which will be held from 11 to 13 June in Melaka.

The official launch ceremony, themed “TVET Pilihan Utama Kerjaya”, is scheduled to be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim this Thursday.
Under the Malaysia MADANI framework, TVET has been identified as a national priority.
The celebration will showcase the four main pillars of the TVET ecosystem: industry, educational institutions, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and federal and state government agencies.
In conjunction with National TVET Day, Malaysia will also host the 4th ASEAN TVET Council Regional Policy Dialogue, themed “TVET for Rural and Regional Development,” taking place this Wednesday and Thursday.
If you are ready to embrace the future, Hari TVET Negara 2025 is the place to be. Join us in Melaka from 11–13 June and experience how TVET is transforming lives, industries, and the nation.
