Universiti Kuala Lumpur’s (UniKL) Center for Water Engineering Technology (CWET), in partnership with the National Hydraulic Research Institute of Malaysia (NAHRIM), successfully trained 50 senior technical professionals from state water operators across Malaysia.
NAHRIM, a research institute under the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), co-organised the specialised training programme on advanced water quality analysis, aiming to enhance the technical skills of water industry professionals.
Held over three days, from 10 to 12 September, at CWET’s cutting-edge facilities, the programme provided comprehensive sessions focused on equipping participants with the latest techniques in water quality assessment and management.
This initiative highlights the importance of collaboration between academic institutions and industry leaders in addressing critical water challenges while promoting financial sustainability.
By offering such customised training, CWET is reinforcing its position as a leader in water technology education and diversifying its revenue streams.
As part of its broader strategy, CWET plans to continue offering professional courses, seminars, and consultancy services tailored to industry demands.
These efforts support UniKL’s long-term goal of achieving financial independence and strengthening partnerships with the private sector, ensuring continued innovation in Malaysia’s water management initiatives.
