Universiti Kuala Lumpur’s (UniKL) Centre for Quality Assurance (CQA) conducted a benchmarking visit to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) for a benchmarking exercise focused on the self-accreditation process.

Conducted on September 26, the visit aimed to observe and understand the implementation of UKM’s self-accreditation process, which has successfully aligned with Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) qualifications.

According to the centre, the agenda was rich with insights, focusing on the organisational structure that supports self-accreditation at UKM.

The UniKL’s CQA explored how information regarding self-accreditation is effectively disseminated throughout the university, fostering a culture of quality and transparency.

“The discussions also delved into the continuous quality improvement (CQI) processes that UKM has put in place, showcasing their commitment to maintaining high standards in education,” a CQA representative shared.

“This benchmarking visit not only provided valuable insights but also strengthened collaborative ties between the two institutions, highlighting a shared commitment to quality assurance in higher education.”

The two-and-a-half-hour sharing session was led by UKM’s Deputy Director of Planning and Quality Improvement, Dr. Babul Airianah Othman.

UniKL’s CQA was represented by Ts. Dr. Farizah Adliza Ghazali (Head of SWA Unit), Lukeman Yusoff (Coordinator at CQA), Ts. Dr. Muna Norkhairunnisak Ustadi (Head of Section QA, UniKL Business School), Zailatul Syeema Mahadi (Head of Section QA, UniKL Malaysian Institute of Information Technology), Mohammad Rizal Abd Razak (Head of Section QA, UniKL Malaysia France Institute), and Siti Zubaidah Shahdan (Assistant Manager).

The session fostered a collaborative environment where best practices in self-accreditation and continuous quality improvement were exchanged.

This engagement also strengthened relationships between the two institutions, promoting ongoing dialogue and collaboration in the pursuit of academic excellence.
