Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (UniKL MIIT) kicked off its Wellness Carnival 5.0 with a session that placed self-care, confidence and professional readiness at the heart of personal wellbeing.
Held at the Banquet Hall, Level 29, UniKL MIIT, the Grooming & Makeup Essentials session brought together staff, alumni and interns for an interactive learning experience designed to strengthen confidence and professional presentation.
Organised by the UniKL MIIT Counselling and Career Development Unit in collaboration with the Industrial Linkages Unit, Alumni Unit and Human Capital Unit (HCU), the programme combined personal wellbeing with practical skills relevant to the workplace.

The session was led by Nurul Maizaitul Farazila, founder of Carya Cosmetics, who shared essential grooming practices and professional makeup techniques through practical demonstrations and hands-on guidance.
Participants were introduced to ways of enhancing their personal presentation while maintaining a natural and confident appearance, skills that can contribute to stronger self-confidence when navigating professional and social environments.
Beyond grooming techniques, the programme highlighted the broader importance of self-care, mental wellbeing, confidence and personal development as part of building a healthy and resilient university community.
The session was also attended by Associate Professor Dr. Ts. Bazilah A. Talib, Deputy Dean (International, Industrial and Institutional Partnership) of UniKL MIIT.
Project Manager Azlina Che Mid said Grooming & Makeup Essentials is among the annual activities organised under the UniKL MIIT Wellness Carnival, which provides opportunities for members of the university community to pause, reconnect and focus on different aspects of their wellbeing.
The opening programme sets the tone for a wider line-up of activities under Wellness Carnival 5.0, covering physical health, active lifestyles, mental wellness, creativity, social connection and personal growth.
The programme supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being through its emphasis on personal and mental wellbeing; SDG 4: Quality Education through informal and lifelong learning opportunities; and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by strengthening confidence and professional readiness.
