Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (UniKL MIIT) brought faith, character and student development together through MIIT Berselawat 2.0, encouraging Generation Z (Gen Z) students to embrace the values and exemplary character of Rasulullah SAW in navigating modern life.
Organised by Rakan Siswa YADIM (RSY) UniKL MIIT on 24 August 2026 in conjunction with Maulidur Rasul 1448H, the programme reflected UniKL MIIT’s broader commitment to developing graduates who are not only technologically competent, but also grounded in strong values, integrity and personal responsibility.
Held under the theme “Meneladani Rasulullah SAW dalam Kehidupan Gen Z,” the programme encouraged students to reflect on how adab and akhlak remain relevant in an increasingly digital and interconnected world.
The message carries particular significance within UniKL MIIT, where technology education is complemented by initiatives that promote spiritual and character development, including its Huffaz Technologist pathway.
The approach reflects UniKL MIIT’s aspiration to nurture graduates who can combine professional and technological competencies with Quranic knowledge, ethical awareness and responsible leadership.
The highlight of MIIT Berselawat 2.0 was a special Maulidur Rasul session featuring Maulana Dr. Iqbal Zain Al Jauhari, who shared reflections on the exemplary character of Rasulullah SAW and its relevance to the lives of today’s youth.
His session explored values including respectful communication, responsible leadership, personal accountability and ethical conduct, including how young Muslims should navigate their interactions and responsibilities in digital spaces.
Beyond its spiritual dimension, MIIT Berselawat 2.0 served as a platform for holistic student development at UniKL MIIT, encouraging students to translate values such as integrity, compassion, humility, discipline and respect into their studies, relationships and future professional lives.
The programme was supported through a collective effort involving RSY UniKL MIIT, the Student Representative Committee (SRC) UniKL MIIT, PERKIM UniKL MIIT, Surau Al-Ahza and Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru.
MIIT Berselawat 2.0 also contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education through holistic and values-based learning, SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions through the promotion of integrity, responsible citizenship and ethical leadership, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through cooperation between student organisations, the university and community partners.
