A total of 162 students from five Preparatory Programmes for Session 1/2022 were celebrated in a virtual appreciation and certificate presentation ceremony by Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), on 23 March 2022.
As part of the ceremony, the students received certificates in recognition of their successful completion of foundation studies.
Speaking at the ceremony, UniKL Deputy President (Student Development & Campus Lifestyle), YBhg. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Khairanum Subari congratulated the recipients who are from UniKL Malaysia Italy Design Institute (UniKL MIDI), UniKL Business School (UBIS), UniKL Malaysian Institute of Chemical and Bioengineering Technology (UniKL MICET), UniKL Malaysian Spanish Institute (UniKL MSI) and UniKL Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (UniKL MIIT).
“I was informed that the ceremony today celebrates the completion of studies for 162 students from five UniKL Preparatory Programmes. The Ceremony for Pre Korea students was held earlier this year by UniKL MIIT prior to their departure to further their studies at South Korean universities in February.
“To all of them, I wish them all the best for the new journey of their lives. The pandemic has resulted in completely new educational forms for everyone.
“Despite the difficulties and challenges, all of you managed to overcome the hurdles and reached your ultimate goal of completing your studies. Congratulations to all,” said her, during delivering the opening remarks on behalf of UniKL President and Chief Executive Officer, YBhg. Datuk Dr. Roziah Omar.
Also present virtually, Deputy Director II, Education Sponsorship Division, Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Yang Berusaha Puan Nor Azlini Zakaria.
Apart from that, five students have been honoured with Best Student Award, namely Ashish Surendran Nair (UniKL MIDI), Nurul Fadzilah Hassim (UBIS), Nik Nur Dinie Wafda Mohd Norzari (UniKL MICET), Czyruzzaman Czyrell (UniKL MSI) and Muhammad Ashraf Rosli (UniKL MIIT).
For the record, the offering of Foundation programmes at UniKL campuses started in 2011 with Foundation in Science and Technology at UniKL MIDI.
As of today, the foundation programmes are offered at six UniKL campuses in Foundation in Science and Technology at UniKL MIDI; Foundation in Medical Science at UniKL RCMP; Foundation in UBIS; Foundation in Computer Technology at UniKL MIIT; Foundation in Science at UniKL MICET and Foundation in Creative Art and Design at UniKL MIDI.
