Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), through its Centre for Women Advancement & Leadership (CWAL), strengthened its role in women’s empowerment, lifelong learning and rural community development through the successful organisation of the Program Eksekutif Transformasi & Pemerkasaan Wanita Siri 2 (Zon Selatan).
The programme was held from 9 to 11 June 2026 at Palm Resort Golf & Country Club, Senai, Johor.
The three-day executive programme was jointly organised by the Institute for Rural Advancement (INFRA) and the Centre for Advancement and Continuing Education (ACE), UniKL Royal College of Medicine Perak (UniKL RCMP).
It was held in support of the mandate of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural and Regional Development, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, to strengthen the capacity of women, particularly those serving rural communities.

The programme brought together 80 participants comprising Village Community Management Council (JPKK) leaders, homemakers and rural women entrepreneurs.
They represented KEMAS Johor, KEMAS Melaka, KEMAS Negeri Sembilan and KEJORA, reflecting strong participation from women leaders across the Southern Zone.
Their involvement highlighted the growing need for community-based women leaders to be equipped with practical knowledge, digital confidence and entrepreneurial skills.
These skills are becoming increasingly important as rural communities adapt to new economic opportunities and the fast-changing digital landscape.
Designed as a transformation and empowerment platform, the programme focused on strengthening participants’ competencies in digital technology, artificial intelligence (AI), leadership, emotional intelligence, cybersecurity and digital marketing.
These areas are especially relevant for rural women entrepreneurs and community leaders who are expected to manage communication, online business platforms, digital risks and AI-driven opportunities.
Throughout the programme, participants took part in interactive learning modules covering emotional management and effective communication.

They were also exposed to women’s leadership and self-confidence in the digital and AI era, AI fundamentals for women entrepreneurs, AI-powered digital marketing, as well as cybersecurity, AI and scam awareness.
The initiative aligns with UniKL’s identity as an industry-focused technical university that promotes applied learning, community engagement and knowledge transfer.
From a sustainability perspective, the programme contributes directly to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), supporting SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 5: Gender Equality and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
Its focus on AI, digital marketing and cybersecurity further supports SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.
The closing ceremony was officiated by Puan Fairus Yahaya, Chief Assistant Director of the Centre of Excellence for Youth, Women and Human Development, INFRA.
