Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Chemical and Bioengineering Technology (UniKL MICET) strengthened its engagement with Malaysia’s school counselling community by welcoming representatives from Majlis Guru Kaunseling Kebangsaan (MGKK) to its campus on 17 August 2026.
The visit provided MGKK representatives with a closer look at UniKL MICET’s academic programmes, learning facilities and industry-focused approach to engineering technology education.
It also created an opportunity for UniKL MICET to share information on higher education pathways available to school leavers, particularly in engineering technology, chemical and bioengineering-related fields.

By engaging directly with school counsellors, the university aims to ensure that students receive clearer and more relevant guidance when making decisions about their future studies and careers.
The engagement also opened discussions on potential areas of cooperation between UniKL MICET and MGKK in strengthening career guidance, higher education awareness and access to information for students across Malaysia.

As part of Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), UniKL MICET continues to emphasise industry-relevant education and the development of skilled graduates who can contribute to Malaysia’s engineering, technology and industrial sectors.

The initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by supporting access to informed educational and career pathways, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through stronger engagement between higher education institutions and the national school counselling community.
