A total of 54 students from Universiti Kuala Lumpur Institute of Medical Science Technology (UniKL MESTECH) stepped beyond the classroom to serve the local community through the Kasih Prihatin Bersama Kampung Orang Asli Kachau Luar programme.
Organised under the Community Service 2 (MPU3422) module, the programme was held on 24 May 2026 at Kampung Orang Asli Kachau Luar, Hulu Langat.
Led by Project Director Siti Nur Faqrina Yusoff under the guidance of advisor Dr. Aladin Mamat, the initiative aimed to cultivate social responsibility, empathy and civic awareness among students while contributing to the well-being of the local Orang Asli community.

Throughout the programme, students participated in a series of gotong-royong activities focused on improving the village environment and infrastructure.
Volunteers worked together to clean and repaint the village surau and its surrounding areas, helping to create a cleaner, safer and more welcoming communal space for residents.
The programme also incorporated health and educational components through a collaboration with Klinik Kesihatan (KK) Semenyih.
Community members benefited from basic health screenings and hygiene awareness sessions, while village children took part in interactive games and ice-breaking activities designed to promote learning and engagement.

By working closely with the residents, students gained valuable hands-on experience in teamwork, leadership and cross-cultural communication.
The experience also provided deeper insight into the challenges faced by rural communities and the importance of preserving healthy living environments.
A key highlight of the programme was the opportunity for students to engage directly with the Orang Asli community, fostering greater appreciation for civic responsibility and the role of community service in supporting rural development.
