Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT) welcomed 240 high-achieving students from the Temerloh SPM High Achievers Programme (TSHAPE) 2026 in a strategic initiative to expose secondary school talents to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) pathways and high-technology industries.
Organised in collaboration with the Temerloh District Education Office (PPD Temerloh), the programme brought together school principals, counsellors, educators and top-performing students from across the district for an immersive academic engagement at the Sepang-based campus, on 20 May.
The visit aimed to broaden students’ understanding of post-secondary education options, particularly in aviation, aerospace, engineering and emerging technology sectors.
Participants were introduced to UniKL MIAT’s academic ecosystem, international pathway programmes, and industry-driven learning approach designed to produce future-ready graduates.

Throughout the session, UniKL MIAT students and academic staff shared insights into several flagship international and specialised pathways, including the Russia Aerospace Programme (RAP), Huffaz Teknologi, Pre-France Programme, Japan University Programme (JUP), and Korea-linked academic collaborations.
These sharing sessions highlighted global academic mobility opportunities available to students pursuing technical education.
Dean of UniKL MIAT, Dr. Mohd Hafizi Shamsudin, said the initiative plays a crucial role in shaping students’ aspirations beyond conventional academic routes.
“Programmes like this allow students to realise that their future is not confined to the careers they are typically exposed to in school. TVET and technology-driven education open doors to high-impact industries that are shaping the global economy,” he said during the closing ceremony.
He added that UniKL continues to strengthen its position as a leading Higher TVET institution by producing industry-ready graduates equipped with practical skills, strong employability, and international exposure.
He also noted encouraging enrolment trends from the Temerloh district, reflecting growing confidence among students and parents in UniKL’s educational offerings.
The programme also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), through its emphasis on access, industry exposure, innovation, and collaborative education development.
