Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) conducted a benchmarking visit to MAHSA University on 3 February 2026 to discuss potential areas of collaboration in healthcare-related programmes.
The visit was led by the Chairman of UniKL, Dato’ Sri Sh Mohmed Puzi Sh Ali, and served as a platform to explore synergistic collaboration opportunities, particularly in nursing, the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme, as well as student mobility initiatives.

“We believe that the strategic collaboration between UniKL and MAHSA University has the potential to create strong synergy, enhance academic quality, expand access to education in the healthcare field, and contribute to the development of highly skilled professional human capital at both the national and international levels,” said Dato’ Sri Sh Mohmed Puzi.
He was accompanied by the President and Chief Executive Officer of UniKL, Prof. Ir. Dr. Azman Senin, along with members of UniKL’s top management.

MAHSA University was represented by its Pro-Chancellor and Executive Chairman, Tan Sri Datuk Prof. Dr. Hj. Mohamed Haniffa Hj. Abdullah; Vice-Chancellor, YBhg. Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Ikram Shah Ismail; and members of the university’s top management.
Among the potential areas of collaboration discussed were the recruitment and mobility of international students to strengthen UniKL’s regional and global reach.

As part of the visit agenda, the UniKL delegation was also brought for a tour of the MAHSA Specialist Hospital, providing an overview of MAHSA University’s healthcare ecosystem and facilities.

The engagement further explored opportunities for academic and research collaboration, including joint initiatives, applied research, and capacity-building efforts, as well as other potential areas of cooperation to be identified through further discussions.
