A total of 35 student leaders from all 12 Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) campuses participated in the Integrity Youth Ambassador (IYA) Programme Series 3/2025, held at UniKL Malaysian Institute of Industrial Technology (UniKL MITEC), from 22 to 25 September 2025.

The initiative, organised by the Institut Integriti Malaysia (IIM) in collaboration with UniKL’s Centre for Student Development (CSD) and UniKL Student Representative Council (USRC), aims to identify and groom future student leaders who embody integrity, empathy, and social responsibility.

The programme included leadership modules and practical CSR activities, giving students the chance to engage directly with the less fortunate.

One notable activity took place at Pertubuhan Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti (PPDK) Permas Jaya, Johor, where students conducted awareness sessions, mural painting, and landscaping projects alongside OKU (persons with disabilities) students.

Despite initial challenges, the student leaders ensured a comfortable and engaging environment, demonstrating patience, empathy, and commitment.

UniKL Deputy President for Student Development and Campus Lifestyle (SDCL) Prof. Ts. Dr. Zalizah Awang Long officiated the closing ceremony, highlighting the importance of cultivating integrity as part of humanity.

“You, as future leaders, should have humanity and concern, and having integrity is actually part of humanity,” she said.

The programme also reinforces United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including quality education (SDG 4), reduced inequalities (SDG 10), and inclusive institutions (SDG 16).

Participants developed essential soft skills, strengthened empathy, and practised responsible leadership, preparing them to become Integrity Youth Ambassadors in January 2026 after completing their final training sessions.

Tuan Harisham Ibrahim, Chief Operating Officer of Institut Integriti Malaysia, expressed optimism that such programmes would continue to nurture ethical leaders capable of making meaningful contributions to society.
