Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Industrial Technology (UniKL MITEC) and Tianjin Maritime College, China, are exploring potential collaborations in logistics education and training.
The initiative stemmed from a visit by a delegation from Tianjin Maritime College to UniKL MITEC, marking an important step in strengthening international cooperation.
The delegation was led by Ms. Liu Yan, Deputy Director of the Office of External Cooperation and Exchange, Tianjin Maritime College, together with Ms. Pesly Chua, Managing Director of C&L Education Group.
Held on 22 July 2023, the session served as a platform to discuss possible areas of collaboration, including student and staff exchanges, academic partnerships, and joint training programmes.
As part of the collaboration, 20 students and two lecturers from UniKL MITEC will participate in a Short-Term Mobility Programme at Tianjin Maritime College in September 2025.

This initiative aims to provide participants with international exposure, foster cultural exchange, and offer first-hand insights into logistics education and industry practices in China.
Beyond tangible benefits for UniKL MITEC students and the university, the initiative contributes to nurturing a future-ready logistics workforce equipped with the skills, knowledge, and global outlook to meet the challenges of an interconnected world.
Through collaborative initiatives, both institutions aim to leverage their respective strengths to create innovative academic programmes, enhance industry-relevant training, and expand opportunities for research and knowledge exchange.
Following the session, the delegation toured UniKL MITEC’s campus and logistics workshop, where they were introduced to the institute’s training facilities, practical laboratories, and learning environment designed to address current and emerging needs in the logistics sector.
