From 23 to 30 July 2025, Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Spanish Institute (UniKL MSI) embarked on a remarkable study tour and summer camp hosted by Xidian University, Xi’an, China.
Organised in collaboration with the Shin Jin Confucius Institute (SJCI), the programme brought together 12 students and two lecturers from UniKL MSI, forming part of an enriching educational and cultural exchange initiative.
During the visit, participants engaged with Xidian University’s Optoelectronic Department and the Division of International Cooperation and Exchanges, gaining valuable academic and research exposure.
The week-long programme featured lectures, laboratory and facility visits, as well as collaborative knowledge-sharing sessions, providing students with first-hand insights into emerging innovations.

Students also had the chance to explore cutting-edge technologies in the field of optoelectronics, expanding their academic perspectives beyond the classroom.
Equally meaningful was the cultural exchange component, which fostered stronger ties, mutual understanding, and international friendships between Malaysia and China.
For UniKL MSI, the programme represents a significant milestone in its mission to broaden global networks, enhance international exposure for students, and cultivate cross-cultural learning experiences.
