Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) celebrated the achievements of its alumni in a grand gathering that brought together 120 alumni from 12 campuses, underscoring the strong and lasting bond between the university and its graduates.
Graced by the Director General of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), the honourees, selected from among UniKL’s more than 91,700 graduates worldwide, include leaders in TVET excellence, young achievers, entrepreneurs, and creative industry talents.

“I was informed that out of 120 outstanding alumni, 90 are men while 30 are women. This reflects UniKL’s commitment to empowering women in male-dominated fields. The achievements of these female alumni demonstrate their ability to compete and excel in the industry.
“In addition, some of them are now working abroad, including in the United Kingdom, South Korea, and Australia. This shows that UniKL graduates are recognised internationally,” he said when officiating the event, held on 29 August 2025.

Also present were the Chairman of UniKL, YB Dato’ Sri Sh Mohmed Puzi Sh Ali, and the President/Chief Executive Officer of UniKL, Prof. Ir. Dr. Azman Senin.
Introduced in 2024, the award pays tribute to UniKL alumni who continue to add value to the university while making significant contributions to society, industry, and the nation.
From over 91,700 UniKL graduates, the 120 honourees were carefully selected through a rigorous nomination process.
The event also served as a platform for alumni to share insights, experiences, and best practices with students, peers, and university leadership, further promoting lifelong learning and professional development.
This year, UniKL expanded its recognition by introducing 10 special alumni awards, compared to three in the previous year.

The most prestigious, the Anugerah Tokoh Alumni Terbilang, was awarded to Datuk Seri Dr Hajah Zurainah Musa, a UniKL Business School graduate who completed her Doctor of Philosophy in Management in 2024.
As Chairman of KNKV Group, her leadership and influence in the corporate world stand as an inspiration to UniKL’s academic community and the next generation of women leaders.
Another honouree was Ir. Dr. Mahzan Teh, recipient of the Anugerah Tokoh Perkhidmatan Awam/NGO.
A UniKL Business School alumnus who earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Management in 2024, he currently serves as the Deputy Director General of Education at MARA. His leadership and dedication to strengthening Malaysia’s education system reflect UniKL’s values of service, knowledge, and nation-building.
A standout moment was also the recognition of Muhammad Haziq Irfan Mohd Hussni among the top 120 alumni.
A graduate in Islamic Finance from UniKL Business School, Haziq has built a dynamic career as a radio announcer, TV host, and actor.
His visibility in Malaysia’s entertainment industry reflects UniKL’s ability to nurture talent that thrives beyond traditional academic and professional pathways.
