Three academicians from Universiti Kuala Lumpur Royal College of Medicine Perak (UniKL RCMP) were honoured with top accolades during the World Pharmacists Day Perak State 2025 Celebration.
Mr. Nor Safwan Hadi Nor Afendi, Lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, UniKL RCMP, received the Anugerah Ahli Farmasi Muda, an award recognising young pharmacists who demonstrate exceptional potential, leadership, and innovation in pharmacy practice and education.

His dedication to nurturing future pharmacists and integrating innovation in pharmacy teaching reflects UniKL’s vision of producing practice-ready and socially responsible professionals.
Ms. Aina Amanina Abd Jalil, also a Lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, was honoured with the Anugerah Apresiasi Ahli Farmasi Komuniti Aktif Program Kenali Ubat Anda for her active involvement in public engagement and health awareness programmes.

Her participation in the Kenali Ubat Anda initiative has significantly promoted responsible medicine use and improved community understanding of pharmaceutical care.
The highlight of the evening was the recognition of Associate Professor Dr Hanah Othman, who received the Anugerah Pencapaian Sepanjang Hayat Dalam Bidang Farmasi, a lifetime achievement award celebrating over two decades of service, leadership, and contributions to advancing the pharmacy profession.
Dr. Hanah has been instrumental in academic leadership and in mentoring generations of pharmacists now serving in hospitals, clinics, and industries nationwide.

Held at Impiana Hotel, Ipoh, the event was jointly organised by the Pharmacy Services Division of the Perak State Health Department and the Malaysian Pharmacists Society (MPS) Perak Chapter.
It recognised outstanding pharmacists across public, private, community, and academic sectors for their dedication and contributions to the profession.
Themed “Think Health, Think Pharmacist,” this year’s celebration underscored the vital role of pharmacists as the first point of contact in community health and as the backbone of patient-centred care.
