When 23-year-old twins Nur Zarifah and Nur Zafirah Azhar from Kuala Lumpur embarked on their educational journey, they never imagined that their paths would remain intertwined.
But fate had other plans, and it was the world of Interactive Multimedia Design that brought them closer than ever.
“As high school came to an end, we had no idea what path to take,” said Nur Zarifah. “But then we discovered the Bachelor of Multimedia Technology (Hons.) in Interactive Multimedia Design, and it felt like the perfect fit for both of us.”
From that moment on, the sisters were inseparable—attending classes together, learning new things together, and even commuting home together.
“It has been an incredible experience. We explored this new field side by side, and every step of the way, we had each other to lean on,” shared Nur Zafirah.
During the second session of Universiti Kuala Lumpur’s (UniKL) 21st Convocation Ceremony, the twins proudly received their bachelor’s degrees in Interactive Multimedia Design.
As they reflected on their time at UniKL, the sisters couldn’t help but laugh at the perks of studying together.
“With two brains, we always had more ideas and creativity to share. And, of course, people would sometimes mix us up—no one could tell who was who!”
Nur Zafirah added with a smile, “But we never used that to our advantage.”
For the Azhar twins, studying at UniKL was not just about academics—it was about stepping out of their comfort zones and discovering a passion for video production.
“At times it was tough, like any journey, but knowing I had my sister by my side made it all the more worthwhile,” Nur Zafirah said.
The twins were among the 810 graduates celebrated at this year’s convocation, part of a larger group of 6,602 graduates at UniKL’s four-day ceremony, running from November 16 to 19.
With this batch, the university’s alumni network now spans 91,792 proud individuals, including the twin sisters.
