Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) has secured two esteemed technopreneur awards at the ‘Majlis Anugerah Teknousahawan TVET@KKDW 2023′ on April 29th, 2024.
The first accolade, a Bronze in the ‘Anugerah Kepimpinan Keusahawanan TVET Terbaik’ was claimed by Siti Noor Kamariah Yaakop, the head of Teknoputera section at UniKL Malaysian Institute of Marine Engineering Technology (UniKL MIMET).
Siti Noor Kamariah expressed her deepest gratitude to all stakeholders, particularly UniKL, for their dedication to enhancing the skills of their staff to remain competitive.
“This award would not have been possible without the unwavering support of UniKL and our students. At UniKL, we have implemented a particular module, the Genesis Programme, aimed at nurturing entrepreneurs.
“From business setup to sustainability, we provide comprehensive assistance,” she stated passionately upon receiving the award.
Accompanying her in this recognition was Muhamad Sallehan Abd Ghafar, an alumnus of UniKL MIMET, who received a Bronze in the ‘Anugerah Inkubator TVET Terbaik’.
Muhamad Sallehan’s maritime venture, MSG Boat Building, has flourished over the past seven years, generating a gross profit of RM1 million to RM1.5 million last year alone.
“I am profoundly grateful to all involved parties. UniKL has been instrumental in shaping my educational journey and post-graduation, providing me with a roadmap to develop my business,” he expressed with heartfelt gratitude.
The ‘Majlis Anugerah Teknousahawan TVET@KKDW 2023’ is a platform that celebrates the achievements of students, graduates, and teaching staff in the field of technopreneurship.
It brings together approximately 23 institutions under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW).
The event was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including the Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, as well as KKDW’s Secretary-General, YBhg. Dato’ Ramlan Harun; Deputy Secretary-General (Policy) of KKDW, YBhg. Datuk Che Murad Sayang Ramjan; Chairman of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) and Pro-Chancellor of UniKL, YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Asyraf Wajdi Dato’ Dusuki; Director-General of MARA, YBhg. Dato’ Azhar Abdul Manaf; and President/Chief Executive Officer of UniKL, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Azman Senin.
