A total of 40 Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) students from Universiti Kuala Lumpur Royal College of Medicine Perak (UniKL RCMP) took centre stage as the driving force behind the successful implementation of Sunnathon Season: Rise With Courage, a community circumcision outreach programme.
Organised by the Medical Society of UniKL RCMP, the programme reflected a strong student-led initiative aimed at delivering compassionate healthcare support to the community while cultivating early clinical exposure and leadership among future medical professionals.
The 40 MBBS student volunteers played a central role in the execution of the programme, managing key operational aspects including registration, logistics coordination, participant flow, and family support services.

Their involvement ensured the smooth running of the event while creating a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.
Prior to the main event, the students also attended a dedicated circumcision workshop.
The session provided practical exposure to procedural understanding, patient preparation, and post-care management, while also strengthening teamwork, communication, and organisational skills essential for community-based healthcare delivery.

The programme benefited 19 children and 1 muallaf, all of whom received fully sponsored circumcision services in a structured and supportive setting.
Medical procedures were conducted under the supervision of a professional team comprising four mudim and one paediatric specialist from Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, ensuring safety, clinical accuracy, and reassurance for participating families throughout the process.
Sunnathon Season: Rise With Courage was organised in collaboration with Masjid Muhammadiah (Cina) Tasek Jaya, under the leadership of prominent neurosurgeon Dato’ Dr. Haji Fadzli Cheah Abdullah, alongside the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) and Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Ipoh.
