Representing Malaysia alongside a team of seven in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Female Category, Nur Afrina Syuhada has shattered gender barriers in the male-dominated e-sports realm.
While male participation posed no challenge for her, Nur Afrina Syuhada hopes to inspire more females to participate in e-sports, highlighting the numerous platforms available for them to excel in the field.
“I believe that my success in winning this bronze not only brings pride to my parents but will also pave the way for a flourishing career in the professional e-sports league,” Nur Afrina Syuhada expressed.
Achieving this success required immense dedication, as Nur Afrina Syuhada and her team underwent rigorous training for a month while simultaneously juggling assignments and classes.
She devoted her weekends to training at Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN) and practised late into the night on weekdays.
“Although it meant sacrificing sleep, it was a sacrifice worth making,” shared Nur Afrina Syuhada, who is currently in her second semester pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
In a significant milestone, Malaysia made its debut in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Female Category and secured the bronze medal by defeating Vietnam 2-0 in the third-place decider match.
Additionally, Malaysia also featured another talented student, Sharifah Alia Husna Syed Fakrrurozi, a Diploma in Business Studies student from Kolej Professional MARA Beranang, in the team.
