A trailblazer in digital technology education, Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (UniKL MIIT) has emerged as the top performer among 42 faculties and schools from 24 public and private higher education institutions in Malaysia.
This recognition follows the presentation of the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) Premier Digital Tech Institutions (PDTI) Outstanding Faculty Award 2024, along with a prize of RM 8,000.
According to the Dean of UniKL MIIT, Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Mohd Nizam Husen, the faculty’s active involvement through the Student Entrepreneurship Association (SEA) and PDTI Tech Club, as well as strong industry engagement and notable student achievements, positioned them to receive this prestigious award.
“This award is a reflection of the dedication and innovation of our faculty members. It underscores our unwavering commitment to providing cutting-edge digital technology education and nurturing the next generation of tech leaders,” he said in a statement.
This achievement highlights UniKL MIIT’s consistent excellence in producing high-impact publications, conducting effective knowledge transfer programmes, and delivering an industry-relevant syllabus to students.
The MDEC PDTI Outstanding Faculty Award 2024 was presented during the PDTI Deans and Heads of Departments Meeting Q1 2025, held at Anjung Digital Smart Selangor, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), on 26 February 2025.
UniKL MIIT’s participation in this important meeting further reflects its commitment to collaboration and its pivotal role in shaping the future of digital technology in Malaysia.
