A total of 62 orphans and underprivileged from Pusat Jagaan Kasih Ilahi were celebrated in a Ramadan Iftar, held by MARA Corporation Group yesterday.
Also celebrated were staff under the group with the aim of strengthening the relationship with the community and its subsidiaries.
Chairman of MARA Corporation, YB Senator Dato’ Wira Othman Aziz said that the ceremony has been organised annually since MARA Corporation was established in 2016.
“Despite tight schedules, MARA Corporation always cares about the underprivileged and the welfare of staff, especially during the month of Ramadan.
“At MARA Corporation Group, we are delighted to be able to give joy to orphans and this is how we give support to those in need,” told him.
During the Iftar, the group of orphans received ‘Hari Raya’ donations worth RM18,600, which also includes a donation from Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) – a subsidiary of MARA Corporation.
In addition to that, another RM1,500 in donations were given out to children of MARA Corporation Group staff who excelled in academics.
It is a part of the group’s social responsibility and its community programme which is intended to ease the burden faced by the underprivileged.
