A video review on Elon Musk’s biography has won Taqriz Fariz from Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysia France Institute (UniKL MFI) to emerge victorious in the highly anticipated Iqra’ Smart (I-Smart) short video contest.
Taqriz’s captivating video review of the biography “Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future” by Ashlee Vance impressed the judges and secured him the prestigious first-place position.
His exceptional presentation skills and insightful analysis earned him a coveted cash prize of RM 1,000.
It was awarded during the Prize-Giving Ceremony that took place at UniKL City Campus on July 11, 2023, which was graced by the Director of the Campus Lifestyle Division (CLD), Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Izuddin Fahmy Abu.
Taqriz’s winning video review centred around the biography of visionary entrepreneur Elon Musk, exploring his remarkable journey and his relentless pursuit of a fantastic future.
Meanwhile, Adib Fahim Khaizal from UniKL Business School (UBIS) secured second place with his insightful review of “Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones” by James Clear. His well-crafted video presentation earned him a cash prize of RM500.
The third-place prize of RM300 went to Ammirul Aiman for his captivating review of “Tenggelamnya Kapal Van Der Wick” by Hamka.
For the record, UniKL’s I-Smart contest, an annual event that has been running since 2018, provides a platform for active UniKL students to showcase their passion for reading through engaging short videos.
The contest, organised at all UniKL campuses, encourages participants to share valuable book content and inspire others to explore the world of literature.
This year’s I-Smart contest revolved around the theme, “What is the most influential read that moves you?”
Participants were tasked with creating a three-minute video review highlighting a book that had a profound impact on their personal growth.
Videos were evaluated based on their production quality, presentation skills, content excellence, and the book’s ability to inspire individuals to become better versions of themselves.
