Mohamad Ezaly Iman Ramli, an alumnus of Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (UniKL MIIT), secured a gold medal for Malaysia at the WorldSkills (WS) ASEAN 2025 competition.
A former gold medallist at the WS Malaysia University Challenge (WSMUC), Mohamad Ezaly Iman competed in the Cyber Security category alongside a partner from Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT).
Their outstanding performance contributed to Malaysia’s overall tally of 13 gold, 4 silver, 3 bronze, and 2 Medallions for Excellence—an impressive national result.
According to Mr. Mohd Zaki Mohamed, Director of the UniKL WorldSkills & Teaching Factory Division, the Cyber Security trade was highly competitive, with participation from six countries: Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, and Indonesia.
As part of this national success, UniKL made a strong impact by fielding competitors in two categories: Cyber Security and Mechanical Engineering CAD.
The latter was represented by Muhammad Huzairy Mohamad Thes from UniKL Malaysian France Institute (UniKL MFI).
“This achievement is a proud moment for UniKL. To participate in two skills and return home with a Gold Medal shows that our pathway from WSMUC to WorldSkills ASEAN is working and it inspires us to aim even higher,” said Mr. Mohd Zaki.
Mohamad Ezaly Iman’s journey from WSMUC to an ASEAN gold medal showcases the effectiveness of UniKL’s training ecosystem, which is aligned with the WorldSkills Occupational Standards Specifications (WSOSS) and Technical Descriptions (TD).
His success underscores UniKL’s commitment to developing world-class talent capable of excelling on the international stage.
Looking ahead, UniKL is gearing up for the upcoming challenges at WorldSkills Asia 2025 in Chinese Taipei and WorldSkills 2026 in Shanghai, with a clear mission to elevate more Malaysian youths onto the global arena.
