Nearly 10,000 huffaz students and alumni from Majlis Amanah Rakyat’s (MARA) educational institutions gathered on 1 March 2026 in conjunction with the agency’s 60th anniversary.
Among the participants were 389 representatives from Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), reflecting MARA’s and its educational institutions’ ongoing commitment to developing future talent grounded in the Qur’an and professional competencies.
The ceremony, officiated by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural Development and Regional Development (KKDW), YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, was held at Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan. It served as a platform to unite the huffaz generation in harnessing their potential in line with the nation’s development aspirations.

At the same event, MARA announced the implementation of the Industrial Boot Camp, targeting 720 tahfiz students to undergo professional and technical skills training with industry-recognised certification and guaranteed employability.
MARA is also expanding its integrated huffaz education ecosystem through the TVET Tahfiz pathway, Huffaz Professional Program, and strategic collaborations with skills training institutions. These initiatives aim to ensure tahfiz graduates are aligned with labour market needs and contribute to the development of highly skilled talent, in line with the Malaysia MADANI agenda.

UniKL supports this initiative by offering around 50 bachelor’s degree programmes related to Higher TVET across its 12 campuses, providing pathways for huffaz students to further their professional and technical competencies.
Also present during the event were Deputy Minister of KKDW, YB Datuk Hajah Rubiah Haji Wang; Secretary-General of KKDW, YBhg. Datuk Muhd Khair Razman Mohamed Annuar; Chairman of MARA, Dato’ Dr. Asyraf Wajdi Dato’ Dusuki; as well as senior management of KKDW, MARA, and UniKL.
Note: In line with Malaysia’s aspiration to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) continues to strengthen and expand its efforts through various initiatives.
