In Malaysia, women are increasingly stepping into key leadership roles, as reflected by the record-high representation of 41.9% in senior managerial positions.
According to Grant Thornton’s Women in Business 2026 report, the figure rose from 36.2% in 2025 and is well above the global average of 32.9%.
As Malaysian women continue to take on more significant roles in leadership and corporate sectors, in line with the government’s emphasis on women’s representation, Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) is playing its part in preparing future women leaders.
During the Program Eksekutif Transformasi & Pemerkasaan Wanita Siri 1 (Zon Utara) held at Raia Hotel & Convention Centre from 21 to 23 April 2026, UniKL played a pivotal role in designing and delivering future-ready learning modules tailored to the needs of grassroots women leaders.

Jointly organised by INFRA and the Centre for Advancement and Continuing Education (ACE) of UniKL RCMP, UniKL’s Centre for Women Advancement & Leadership (CWAL), the programme attracted 80 participants from Kedah, Pulau Pinang, and Perlis.
Throughout the three-day programme, participants were exposed to key areas such as leadership and emotional intelligence, digital transformation and AI applications, digital marketing, and cybersecurity awareness.
These modules were carefully curated to equip women leaders with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Four trainers from UniKL were involved in delivering the programme: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zuhanis Mansor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siti Marwangi, Prof. Dr. Engku Ahmad Azrulhisham, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Shakir.
A total of three programme series will be implemented in April, June, and August 2026, targeting the participation of 240 women who are current and aspiring community leaders.
These initiatives are strategically aligned with the national mandate outlined by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW), YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, in strengthening rural economies, empowering local communities, and enhancing the leadership capacity of grassroots stakeholders.
The programme received highly positive feedback from participants, who acknowledged the growing importance of digital and AI knowledge in today’s world.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yuhanees Mohamed Yusof, participants demonstrated strong interest and full engagement throughout the three-day programme.
The participants also recognised the significance of AI in supporting their daily responsibilities and enhancing their effectiveness as leaders.
INFRA also expressed its appreciation for the programme, which achieved 100% participant commitment throughout its implementation.
