A team from Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) has secured third place at the XJTLU Global Dream Chasers Entrepreneurial Competition, emerging ahead of 1,170 project submissions from 28 countries and regions.
The competition featured a highly competitive international field, with participation from top-tier, high QS-ranked, and Ivy League universities.
The achievement places the UniKL team among the top performers on the global stage, where only a small fraction of entries advanced to the final ranks.
The team comprised Mohamad Ikmal Hafizi Mohd Amir, Mohammad Kamil Idul Bahri, Hafizah Hanim Esmet Sidqie, and Fatin Najwa Mohd Najib from the UniKL Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (UniKL MIIT).
They were guided by mentor Nadhirah Azamuddin from the Teknoputra Division at UniKL MIIT.
The winning project, AURA – Autonomous Urban Infrastructure AI, presents an AI-driven solution designed to enhance urban infrastructure systems through intelligent, scalable technologies aimed at addressing real-world city management challenges.
The project focuses on practical deployment potential, bridging the gap between conceptual innovation and applied urban solutions.
Beyond the ranking, the recognition highlights UniKL’s growing presence in global innovation arenas and demonstrates the ability of its students to compete alongside peers from some of the world’s most established universities.
